Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information JSP Wedding Designs collects, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with and the rights you have. We have written it for our real business: wedding and event hire (marquees, stages and backdrops, walkways and house lighting) across London. We do not sell products online.

1. Who we are

Jeevan Panesar, trading as JSP Wedding Designs, Southall, West London, is the "controller" of your personal information.

Contact us about anything in this policy: jspweddingdesigns@gmail.com or 07944 981540.

2. What we collect

  • Enquiry and quote details you give us on our website, by WhatsApp, phone, email, Facebook or Instagram: your name, phone number, email address (optional), event date, postcode or venue, type of event, guest numbers, the services you want and any notes or photos you send (for example a photo of your house front or garden so we can measure).
  • Booking details: the agreed services, dates, setup and collection times, the event address, and records of deposits and payments.
  • Messages you send us and our replies.
  • Website information: our website runs on Shopify, which records technical information such as your device, browser and the pages you visit. Analytics and advertising cookies are only used if you allow them in the cookie banner (see section 8).
  • Information saved only in your own browser: some features of our website remember things on your device, such as the looks you save in our Gallery album, your progress in the quote builder and which advert brought you to us. This stays in your browser; it is only sent to us if you choose to send it (for example by tapping "Send on WhatsApp").

3. How we use it and our lawful bases

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote (taking steps at your request before a contract).
  • To deliver your booking: planning, delivery, setup, collection, aftercare (performing our contract with you).
  • To take and record payments and keep business records (contract and legal obligation, including tax records).
  • To follow up an enquiry we have not heard back on, a small number of times, and to ask for a review after your event (our legitimate interest in running and improving our business). You can ask us to stop at any time.
  • To measure and improve our adverts on Facebook, Instagram and Google (your consent, given in the cookie banner).

We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

4. Who we share it with

  • Shopify, which hosts our website and receives website enquiry forms.
  • Meta (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram) when you message us on those apps, and for advertising measurement if you consent to cookies.
  • Google, which provides our email and the spreadsheet we use to manage enquiries, and Google advertising tools if you consent to cookies.
  • Partners we arrange for you, such as a DJ, dhol players or a luxury car, only when you ask us to book them, and only the details they need for your event.
  • Our bank or payment provider, our accountant, and authorities where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal information.

5. International transfers

Some of these providers (Shopify, Meta, Google) may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and quotes that do not become a booking: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Bookings and payment records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required for tax.
  • WhatsApp messages: we clear chats we no longer need for a booking or a legal reason.

7. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw any consent you have given. Contact us using the details in section 1; we reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

8. Cookies

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Essential cookies keep the website working and secure. Analytics and advertising cookies (Shopify analytics, the Meta pixel, Google tags) are only used if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page.

9. Security

We keep information on secure, password-protected services and only share it where described above. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send bank card details by message.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
